Structured Negotiation

Structured Negotiation is a strategy that avoids lawsuits and focuses on lasting change and relationship-building. Lainey Feingold, a disability rights advocate, developed the process as a way to avoid time and costs associated with the class-action lawsuits typically required to spur companies to adopt accessibility measures.

The process points out problems and suggests solutions, rather than sending a warning shot for litigation. Companies pay the attorney’s fees, which are a much lower cost than engaging in a lengthy court battle.

Stuctured Negotiation is a way of enforcing legal rights without fighting; instead collaborating.

Lainey Feingold created Structured Negotiation and is the author of Structured Negotiation: A Winning Alternative to Lawsuits.
